Ewing Sarcoma, Chest Wall (Askin's Tumor)

Clinical Presentation:
The most common primary chest wall tumor in children.

Etiology/Pathophysiology:
Tumor spreads in the marrow cavity and through the cortex into the periosteum and beyond with a tendency to infiltrate the soft tissues.

Pathology:
Not applicable

Imaging Findings:
Initially it may appear to be a subpleural or subcutaneous soft tissue mass. Later, rib expansion with destruction of the cortex and medulla, periosteal new bone formation and an associated soft tissue mass will be seen. Pleural effusions are often seen.

Chest wall mass
